Happy New Year from Kyrgysztan
While chaos continues in Kenya, I have flown to Kyrgysztan to meet with old people affected by rising oil prices. The knock on effect of price increases on food and fuel is huge.
Here a group of old people from a remote village celebrate the Kyrgys New Year with a tea party.
With average temperatures of minus 20 in the mountains old people are struggling to heat their homes on their miniscule pensions.
