ETHIOPIA - RISING FOOD COSTS AND HIV

Elderly people in Ethiopia, dependent on ARV's, are increasingly unable to afford a meal a day as food prices rapidly increase. While on assignment, with Helpage International, in the town of Awassa it became clear that the lack of an integrated approach to ARV treatment ie. ensuring that food is readily available to people and their children who take ARV's, is seriously jeopardizing the fight against AIDS.
